The underside does have a lot of visible wear on it, although it's purely cosmetic and everything in the core system works without issue. If the markings got on your nerves, you can find a replacement bottom cover for $40 on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/405811021154).
This system also comes with a Dell D6000 port replicator / docking station, as well as an all-metal desk laptop stand for it in the event you wanted to use it as a true hybrid workstation.
