These IYV guitars are a Vietnamese-made budget-end option for someone looking for great looks, good playability, at a very reasonable price point.
I'm the original owner of this natural-finish IYV; they actually don't make this finish anymore, so they're becoming harder to get.
It's had some changes made to the stock configuration to improve playability. Pots have been changed to CTS pots, and the 3-way unshielded switch has been replaced with a shielded 3-way toggle. Pickups are Artec Alnico 5 Vintage 59's. Stock nut has been replaced with a leveled bone nut to improve intonation. Tuners have been replaced with Guyker locking tuners.
So... a lot of the leg work that you'd do on a budget guitar to get it more in the realm of a player's guitar has already been done for you.
I have two of these guitars - the other one is exactly identical, configuration and all, except it's a dark-stain ash top instead of a natural spalted maple. Check my other listings on Craigslist if you'd like a matching 'backup' guitar for this one at the same price!
It's a $230 stock guitar, with $120 of no-nonsense upgrades in it. Asking for $200.
